As an independent, award winning charity, Earthtime For All’s direction and development is overseen by a Board of volunteer trustees. This encompasses the nursery, educational outreach and family projects that have been developed within the Earthtime For All core social purpose; to improve lives and outcomes for families and young children in Moray through spending time outside in nature.

As a Board we have gone through many recent changes and we would like to introduce ourselves so that you can approach us at any time. We would be keen to hear from anyone with suggestions for future projects, stories of wonderful Earthtime For All experiences or any concerns or complaints. If you would like to contact us please email us using the following confidential email address that can only be accessed by members of the Board: Earthtimeboard@gmail.com

I have enjoyed a a full career in education, as a teacher and Head teacher, in primary schools in Moray. I am currently involved in providing alternative curriculum provision in a local secondary school
and very much enjoying the new and different challenge. I am a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader and I have introduced and led various outdoor activities, as part of the curriculum, in all of the schools I have worked with.

I enjoy cycling, walking and working in my garden. I have just completed a permaculture Design Course and I am currently working on implementing the designs I have created to increase the biodiversity and food yield in my garden. Small steps towards living more sustainably!

I am a Rural Surveyor by profession as well as owning and managing Duffus Estate. I joined the Board of Earthtime in 2014 having experienced their activities with my own children. I am passionate about children being encouraged to explore the wonder of nature and I am delighted to have Earthtime using our grounds at Duffus for the Outdoor Nursery and other educational activities. Duffus Estate is itself striving to be more sustainable and environmentally aware. I am also a Trustee for Outfit Moray, another local charity which delivers outdoor adventure activities for young people.

I currently work as Independent Chair of the Moray Child Protection Committee and Moray Adult Protection Committee.

While working as a lawyer, I chaired the Scottish Young Lawyers Committee and was a regular contributor to The Scotsman.

My children would tell you than my hobbies are hanging laundry and hoovering, but I actually prefer being outdoors and planning travel adventures.

I joined Earthtime’s Board in 2022, and love becoming part of the Earthtime community. I am Director and Co-Founder of ACE Voices – a family of play-centred community projects that specialises in empowering people, communities and our wider natural world to thrive through play in all its colours. Since we began in 2011, ACE Voices has supported over 10,000 people in Aberdeen and beyond to embrace and express their voice in their own way. Having recently completed my Forest and Outdoor Learning Award Level 8, I am looking forward to volunteering with Earthtime’s activities in the months and years to come. I have previously worked for Adventure Aberdeen, National Youth Choir of Scotland, and Aberdeen City Council’s Music Service.
