Earthtime’s UP Project Events and Workshops

What’s Coming UP?

Earthtime is bringing you lots of events to help up-cycle, up-skill, up your creativity and save you money. We’re challenging ourselves to live with less and we’re hosting workshops to help us on the path to less stuff!

See below for skills, workshops and events that interest you and get in touch for more information or to suggest a useful workshop!

Our workshops are free (donations always welcome!)  but numbers for each session are limited so booking is essential by emailing paul@earthtime.co.uk or phoning 01343 541335

Do you have a skill you could share?  Are you a dab hand at sewing?   An eye for up-cycling projects? Get in touch to volunteer your skill and do something positive for your community and environment.

Clothes Swishes (swaps)

Children’s clothes Swish

Wednesday 14 March

Elgin Community Centre

Drop off 9.30-10am, Swish 10am-noon

Bring along a few items of your clean,
good quality clothes which your children have
outgrown or no longer wear and no swap them
for some new-to-you clothes.

Clothes swishing or swapping is a great way to reduce our fabric waste to landfill, reduce demand for new clothing with all the environmental impact that has, and save money too!

A free drop-in event

Tuesday Clothes Swishes

We’ve started having a rolling Clothes Swish every Tuesday at Earthtime’s West Lodge in Cooper Park (next to Elgin Library) from 10-4 We’ll also put out clothes for swishing outside our West Lodge office on other weekdays weather permitting.

Please note that this is a rolling clothes swish or swap, so the idea is that you take away some good quality new-to-you clothes as well as dropping off good quality clothes for swapping. We don’t want people to just drop off clothes as we don’t have the room to store them. Thank you!

Clothes swapping is a wonderful way to keep clothes (and toys, games and other items) in active use for longer, which helps to reduce the negative environmental impacts.

We host regular swishes in Moray to encourage people to swap clothes and items that they no longer use for ones that they do.

Take a look at our dedicated swishing page for more information about why swishing helps and how you can get involved.

Would you like to hold a swish in your community? amongst a group of your friends and/or family? with a club you belong to?  Please get in touch!   We can help you organise it and provide you with leaflets and information about why it’s such a great thing to do! Email us at paul@earthtime.co.uk
